Stephen Silverman, MD
Stephen Silverman, MD, is a board-certified addiction medicine specialist, Physician Partner with Northwell Health, and is affiliated with Garden City Treatment Center. He is a nominee for the Truly Award, recognizing his commitment to high-quality patient care.
Dr. Silverman is one of approximately 6,000 diplomates of the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) worldwide. His expertise focuses on medical treatment for substance use disorders, using individualized treatment protocols to support recovery. He provides medication-based treatment, with counseling as a secondary component.
Dr. Silverman earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency at St. Luke's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to medical school, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand's Malaria Control Program.
With years of experience in addiction medicine, Dr. Silverman has dedicated his career to helping individuals recover through evidence-based treatment approaches.
